Changing my tire size... need help

Hi,

Since winter is coming, i need to buy a set of winter tires. I own 2006 coupe with sport suspension.

Infiniti recommend me this setup 215/55/17 front and 225/55/17 back.

I can across a deal on a set of 4 x 225/55/17. Those tires are perfect for the back but their is a 2.5% error for the front.

I don't really mind the % error on the speedo but i was wondering, will this setup affect the geometry of the car and make the traction control go crazy????

Finally, i'm pretty sure i don't need the tpms sensor for the wheels. Can somebody confirm???

Thanks in advance

I'm not sure I understand the question, or maybe coupes are radically different, but the two sizes of front tires you have up there are the exact same heighth (55x17). I believe they will have the exact same effect on your speedo. The only difference between the 2 sets of front tires sizes that you have listed is the width (215 vs. 225) which should not effect the speedo.

Can't speak to TCS/VDS and tire sizes on a coupe.

You don't have to have the TPMS sensors installed.

I've heard from while reading a while ago on this website that sometimes when changing the tires size, the car geometry was changing and the traction control was going nuts.

On a 2006 coupe, the front tires are 225/40/19 and the back are 245/40/19.

The best setup for a coupe in 17 is 215/55/17 for the front and 225/55/17 for the back.

However, i came across a deal on 4x 225/55/17.

My question is, will this size make a significant difference in the handling of the car???
