Spacers question

I would like to know what spacers are needed for? If I buy a set of rims I would like to know whether I need them or not. I own a 2006 OB Sedan and plan to go with some mrr hr-2s.

The rims I was looking at were MRR hr-2s. they are 19x8.5 and 9.5(staggered), and I believe the offsets are 35(F) and 45(R).

FWIW i don't like wheel spacers as they increase the load on your wheel lugs and i've actually seen in extreme cases where the wheel comes off as a result. IF you decide to use them go with the thinnest spacers possible for your rims, carefully torque your rims to recommended specs, and don't cheap out.

Cool thanks for the info. I'm sure they're not required though. You would probably know more than me. I figure they're more perferred for guy who get rims with a high number offset and if they have big brake kits, yes/no?

well, i always look at them as the "cheap fix" for making the wrong rims fit or making your cars' track wider (or as you said to clear bigger brakes). if you're doing things properly IMO your rims should already do this without spacers.
just my .02
