20" wheels on my Ride

I just put on some new 20" inch wheels on my G35, and IM LOVING IT!!!!! The whole way home, everyone was giving me thumbs up and tripping over my car. I have a CB. I stopped at the gas station and this old man was pumping gas and walked over to my car and gave it a walk around nodding his head. Another reason I love my G again. Just bought the puppy and its drawing all the attention. Now to just get some P-U-S-S-Y with this thing. Im going to Sunset next weekend.
I'll post pics this afternoon.

Re: 20" wheels on my Ride

Not sure what wheel it is, some new wheel that just came out. My buddy works for a rim shop, so he hooked me up with the wheels at cost to represent his shop. Wheels and tires for cost, cant beat that. Im running 20x8.5 all the way around with Nitto NT555 245/40 tires. Im waiting for the Michelin Pilots in 20's to get to him, and as soon as they do, their going straight onto my car. But so far, i have no complaints, they drive as smooth as the stock 18's.

Did you originally have OEM 18s"?

If so, then your speedo and wheel speed sensors are going to be off. About 2MPH in back and 4 MPH in front.

Re: 20" wheels on my Ride

my speedo is off by 2.1mph at 100 MPH. so when im actually doing 50, its like 51.29. Not that big of a deal.
especially since its rolling slower. more miles for me to put on my lease for free

If you went 275/30/20 your speedo would be perfect, but the ride would feel like you had your springs welded together. Oh, and look out for those potholes!

no it wouldnt, 275/35/20 is taller overall than the stock 245/45/18. Do the math and you'll see.

Re: 20" wheels on my Ride

WRONG on two counts:

First the stock 245s on 18 are 26.7in in diameter versus 26.5 for the 275/30/20s

Two, the sidewalls on the 245s are 4.3in versus 3.2in on the 275/30/20s

The sidewall on any 45 series tire will have more flex than any 30 series tire, therefore a 30 series tire will always have a stiffer ride.

Re: 20" wheels on my Ride

I want to see some pictures... How's the ride, any rubbing? car feeling more slower and sluggish?

We can roll to sunset together... I took my coupe there the 2nd night I got my car, picked up 2 girls near carney's (train food station).. Gotta love Sunset

I'm trying to get the damn digital camera from my friend back to take teh pictures. The car is not sluggish at all. I havent noticed any difference in ride quality either.
