225 tires on 235 rim

Anyone knows is it possible/safe to install tires 225 wide on stock 17" rear wheel (stock tire is 235). My friend is just sold his bmw and he has almost brand new winter tires but all of them are 225...

its fine, the 17" rear wheels are 8" wide, which is an acceptable size for a 225mm wide tire

Other than the tire dia possibly being a bit small, it's okay
