I had them on my Subies, a couple different sets and never had a problem. I guess I don't drive crazy and I usually try to avoid potholes if I can.

i dont understand why people make it a personal vendetta to single out cases like these.

sure make the comment in an existing thread, but dont waste energy...also you lost my support when you said "he had them wheels on his wheels"

people will continue to buy what they can afford at the moment they can afford it...if you can buy top brand wheels congrats, but dont go judging the those who can't or choose not too...unless of course you're a car judge.

I never had a problem with the ones I had on my old car. Then again, I never ran into curbs and the streets around here are pretty good.
Look at it this way, if the rims cost a 1/3 of high end ones, you could buy 8 extra rims before you match the cost of the high price ones.
I would rather replace a $200 rim eight times than half to replace a $1000 one four times.

that statement might be VERY true on the MONEY side alone but if that wheel breaks and causes you to lose control of your car and smash into another car, that MIGHT cause you to lose your life. that isn't replaceable 8 times is it now.

people only look at one aspect of things, that given i'll still consider Rota for a set of daily driving wheels mainly due to price and i normally stay away from holes.

Very true but who's to say if the same high dollar rim wouldn't break under the same circumstances. Especially under the condition that was mentioned in the original post reguarding an undersized tire on the rim.
I had a Conquest with 19" RacingHart's and went over a set of bad railroad tracks and bent two of them. The next set was from Rota and I still had to travel the same road, so I was more careful, but I never bent one.

from what i understand, the soft alloy wheels when hitting potholes mainly for a dents and internal cracks in the barrel/lip and the since the forged wheels are made of stronger metals, it might take a lot more to damage them but when they damage they should split. like the VOLK picture above. any wheel at any cost will bend. snap. break etc.

i've seem any OEM VW wheels bend and some of those are made by BBS or OZ. i've came across a Phateon wheel that hit a pothole and formed hairline cracks in the barrel of the wheel. given none of these wheels are forged, just wanted to state OEM wheels have flaws as well.

EVERY wheel goes thru certain types of tests that deem them strong to a certain degree and if you dont hit a curb or pothole NO wheel should be damaged.

Like everyone else says here, you get what you paid for. Don't like it? Save up and get Volks, simple as that.

Thank God I'll never have problems with the spokes cracking on my wheels.
