Winter rim/tire size and offset

Hi,

I have an '06 coupe, and was wondering (for winter wheels) if the sedan 17" wheels would fit (size 215/55 tires)? I believe the offsets are different in the rims (between sedan and coupe), but other than appearance, is there anything that should concern me about doing this?

Thanks,

dont the 06 have larger brake rotors and such? are you buying these or do you already have them?

my biggest concern aside from appearance on a coupe would be brake clearance. i'd say you'd be better off finding a set of aftermarket wheels with the proper offset at least. not sure what your budget is.

maybe look for a 17x7.5 or 17x8 with +35 thru +25 offset?

I would seriously consider a set of Rotas in the Evo fitment, no compromise on style and fitment at least..$700-shipped for a set of their Boost wheels.

They will clear the OEM 06 brakes just fine. This is the setup I run in the winter(with spacers) because I picked them up for cheap, $125/4. It looks horrid but it gets the job done. I run the OEM coupe sizes on them though, 225/50/17 and 235/50/17. You should be okay with 215/55/17 though

Thanks for your responses. I already have them and they do clear the brakes. I bought the tires/rims together, as it was a good deal. I do have a set of OEM coupe 17" wheels I could put the tires on (if the tires fit), but I thought I would keep them on these wheels so I could easily rotate them each year. I didn't realize there was a difference in offset when I bought them though. I just wanted to make sure that I wouldn't be damaging my car (throw something off or damage suspension, etc.)...

I would personally put them on the coupe wheels. Without spacers it looks ridiculous. Rotation is overrated anyways, you are better off having the tires removed and flipped from side to side, that makes more a difference in wear.

I agree...the coupe wheels would look better. Would the winter tires i have (215/55/17 all around) fit on OEM coupe 17's (rear rims are 8" wide)?
