Nismo Question

The Nismo wheels are 18" x 8.5" front, 18" x 9.5" in the rear.

Thus, the diameter is 6.5 MM smaller in front and .5 MM smaller in rear if I use the recommended 245/40 and 275/40s.

1) Will this bother my VDC?
2) What will it do to my speedometer?
3) What are the implications of the wider tires? Will it stick out of my wheel well? Will it create more understeer? etc.

I'm really looking to lose weight at the wheel without creating a cleaning nightmare. What else should I be thinking about in my wheel evaluation? I want performance first, cleaning ease second, not having a retarded looking car third.

I'm also considering the Volk GT-N in a gunmetal. If I go this route, should I stick with the 8" width? What advantage/disadvantage will be achieved going wider, and if I do go Volk GT-N, what offset do I look for in the front and rear?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Re: Nismo Question

Using the numbers below you're looking at less than a 1% difference in circumference. You won't notice it on your speedo. VDC will be fine as well.

After the tire size is the diameter, then the cirucumference.

225 45 18 25.97 81.55 Coupe 18" (Front)
245 45 18 26.68 83.78 Coupe 18" (Rear)

245 40 18 25.72 80.75
275 40 18 26.66 83.72
