Goodyear F1-GSD3 Tires
Goodyear F1-GSD3 Tires
I'm thinking about putting these on my coupe 19 wheels as the original Bridgestone RE050As are pretty much dead. I read a comprehensive tire comparison done by Car and Driver with all the top summer tires from 2006 and the Goodyears were actually rated as #1. The stock factory tires were suprisingly rated at #9 out of 11. There really aren't that many choices that fit the coupe wheels unfortunately. The other choices are the Michelin Pilot PS2 which got 4th in the comparo, and Pirelli PZero Rosso which got 7th. In order to even get the Goodyears you have to go the front rim's maximum recommended size of 245/40/19 or 245/35/19 because they don't make them in the stock 225 width. To try and keep a staggered look and handling, I am thinking of going with 255/35/19s in the rear. Anyone try these tires in 19s? I used to have a set in 18s but I was using a set of ADR rims and they never seemed to sit properly in my hub so I always got a bit of vibration at higher speeds. I do remember they had amazing grip in the rain which is pretty much most of Vancouver's annual weather condition.
ive ran these tires on my wrx and s2000. the tires were awesome on both cars, and i have used many different kinds of tires from michelin pilot sport ps2's, falken zeix 512, hankook z212, to falken azenis rt615's IMO the goodyears were the best all around tires i have ever used. the tread life on them is very VERY good, they work amazingly in the rain, and perform great in the dry. the only complaint i had about them is that the sidewalls on them were a little soft when you pushed the tires to its limits, but they were still good tires and i would definitely buy them again.
Great tires, but overpriced IMO. Not sure if your sizes are avail., but the Toyo T1-R's and Falken FK-452's are a great tire for less $ and will last you longer. Just my $0.02.

I haven't heard anything bad about these tires. The only small complaint I hear is the fact that the sidewalls are a little soft(er) in comparison with other summer-max performance tire out there.
I will definately need to try these tires out myself some day.

I ran a set of these in 245/35/19 & 275/35/19 for about a year. I absolutely loved them. Great traction in the rain, and pretty good in the dry as well. Toyos/Falkens are good values, but this tire blows those budget tires away.
I have been running a set of them on my sedan in 245/45/18. They are great tires, but as they age they don't grip as well in the cold. Not an issue here in florida.
on the plus side, I have to try to make the car slip. On the minus side, once warm these grip much better than my clutch.
I am ready to buy a second set - the only reason I am delaying it is that I might want to go back to the stock size. If these were available in 235/45/18 I would have bought a second set already.

I had them on my Volks...awesome tires, and this is an unbiased opinion being that I've had Falkens and Toyo's...
Would I get them again? Probably not, only because I liked the look of the 275's sidewall from the falkens. Honestly, they all seem the same in this hot, CA weather. BFG does make a reputable tire, I got good tread out of it, minimal tire noise and had no problems whatsover gripping..
