All Weather Tires
All Weather Tires
Hi Guys,
I have spent most of the day yesterday researching tires for my G35. Can anyone recomend a good pair of all-weather tires? I live in WI and only have summer tires rigth now.
Thanks.

I've got Nokian WR's for the snow season. They're technically all-season, but I think they are the only all-season that have the mountain/snow flake symbol. They're rated for 50K miles and are perfect for the 6+ months I can't wear a warm weather tire (I live in Northern MI). This is the 2nd car I've had them on, and all my sister's have had them on a variety of cars, both FWD and AWD, and never have any problems in the bad weather.
I won't buy dedicated winter tires. They're too expensive, wear out too quickly, and are only snow tires for the first half of their tread depth, after that they're just crappy tires. The Nokians aren't cheap, but their "winterness" is good for the entire tread depth, and they have a much higher mileage rating. They'll last me at least 4-5 winters. I've got them on my stock 17's, and I'm either going to swap the tires out in the spring for another set of 17's that came with the car, or I'm buying a set of 18" wheels and tires.
Oh, most importantly, they're awesome in the snow. They accelerate, turn, and brake very well. I won't buy anything else.
