05-06 OEM 18" Sedan Rims w/ 245/45/R18

My tires are starting to wear out, and I was planning on buying wider tires. Does anyone have pics of OEM sedan 18" rims with 245/45/R18? I want to see how they look. A closeup and a shot of the car would be nice. Thanks.

It'll look normal. I'm running 245/40/18 on mine and they look fine.

I had this size previously but on OZ wheels. Remember it will be wider and a taller profile. The profile was too tall for my tastes. Never had rubbing on z springs all around but it sure was close. Dont think I have any pictures.

These are Enkei wheels that look similar to stock 18's. They are 18 as well. Tires are General ExclaimUHP 245/45/18. No drop and they fill the wheel wells nicely in my opinion.

These are 245/45/18 Avon Tech M550 A/S. I am looking for a replacement (non-directional) as well but there are not many 245/45/18 high performance all seasons out there. Considering the Kumho Ecsta Asx but not sure if it will fit the 7.5 width since tire sizes may vary based on different brands. My car is not lower (it was at one point in time) thus I wanted the 45 series to fill some of the gap. If I can't find any, then will probably just go with the OEM size 235/45/18.

I'm running Dunlop Direzza 245/45/18 on my 18" coupe wheels. They look fine and flush with the car body. I have about a 3.5 finger gap from the top of the tires. I am looking for revised 350Z spring and struts for a bit of a drop. I will try to get some pictures up this weekend.

I just got a new set in this size for my 05 6MT Sedan. There are a lot more tire options in this size than the stock size. Switching to 245/45/18s means your car will be traveling a little faster than the speedometer reads (just a little over 1% as compared to using the stock 235/45/18 tires, or about 1 mph at 60 mph.) As the tires wear, they will get closer to stock size and the amount of error will drop. The 245/45/18s also give you about a quarter inch more tread touching the road.

So both of your sets are running 245/45/18? What kinda of tires are on them?

I'm running 225/45/18 on my 7 1/2 inch wheel and its a tad lower than the
245/45/18 which I had before.

Yokohama AVID W4S. Other set were Hankook Ventus. I got about 16K out of the Hankooks in just "normal" driving. (Normal for me means the SLIP light comes on a couple times a week...) The Yokohamas are quieter and they seem to ride a little better. I primarily chose these on price, not so much performance. The Yokohamas were about $160 each IIRC.

The Yokohama Avid W4S are directional or asymmetric tires? How many miles you have on them and they have no problem on the 7.5 rims right? I checked the specs and the measuring rim width is 8 inches.

Yes, they are directional. The tires fit fine. There is plenty of clearance with the stock sport suspension. (More than I'd like!) I've only had the Yokohamas for about 2000 miles. Yokohama gives a range of 7.5 to 9 inches for acceptable rim widths for this tire. Yokohama publishes the width of the tire in their specs, but they know that mounting the same tire on a 7.5 inch rim and a 9 inch rim will cause the tire to be slightly wider or narrower. Thats why they include a "measured rim width" of 8 inches; it simply means that the width they publish in their specifications is the width of the tire on a 8 inch rim. In our case, the widest part of the tire will be a little less than what they publish, probably half a centimeter or so. (If you want more assurance look up the specs on the stock tire size. They use a 8" measured rim width for it's specs too.)

hey guys not to hi-jack this thread.....
I am also looking at the yokohamas avid w4s which are offered in 235/45/r18 and 245/45/r18. I am thinking at going with the 235's. But I noticed the rim width ranges on that one are 7.5 to 9 inches. From what you said earlier, I assume we have 7.5 inch wide rims. Any disadvantages of being right on the limit of 7.5 inches.

Also, I know its preference, but the 235's are $14 cheaper on tirerack.com. So is there any advantage to one verse the other...other than looks. I am leaning towards the 235 just to stay with the original size.

thanks.
