because venders suggested the less aggressive offsets? I dunno, most people don't want to do any thinking on their own and just do what others tell them to

That and vendors tend to carry only certain fitments in stock. Most people buy from what vendors have in stock. Fewer people custom order because of the wait time and premium price.
