new rear calipers :)

I just received my new calipers today. They're just stock 6mt brembos for the rears, but they're definitely an upgrade for my lowly 5at brakes. Now I just have to wait for stoptech to release their two piece rotors for the brembos, and I'm set.

I'm going to paint them red to match my fronts. They're brand new, so it's tough to cover up the nice paint, but it'll look weird with gold brembos in the rear, and reds in the front.

I got them from an ebay seller for $509 shipped. Brand new, both rear calipers. Not a bad deal.

Did you have to change or add anything for the Brembos to fit? I'm thinking about doing the same thing. I was looking at the same ebay seller for the Brembos. thanks

Well, my front brembos weren't stock 6mt ones, so I had to end up using a slightly smaller 12.4" rotor. I hear that the front will bolt right up with the stock 6mt brembos.

For the rears, I know that I'll have to trim the dust shield, and get new bolts. But that's not too bad. I'm just waiting for the rotors now. I already have some stoptech SS lines for the rears.

E_K,

Are you going to paint them yourself? Since they're off the car why not take them to paint shop? There was female member in Florida with a TB 6mt, she didn't like the gold color of the stock Brembros. She had them painted in a shop and they looked great. I know you did all the work on your lights and they came out clean. I was just curious.

Yeah, I'm going to paint them myself. That red front caliper you see in the pic was actually repainted by me. The paint was messed up from various scrapes/scratches from before, so I gave it a more even coat. I then added several coats of clear coat, wet sand, and polished to a shine.
