Exclamation Paranoid about my New Setup

So last week I put on my new summer setup of Volk GTF's and Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's and a few days later the back on the driver side failed. There was a rip of the sidewall almost all the way around. It looked like it started in one spot then just went all around with the heat and such. It was on the side of the car if that makes any difference. Everyone is telling me probably some bad luck either a bad tire or hit a nasty pothole although I don't remember doing that. I'd never get Michelin to admit I got a dud so I'd really never know for sure. It's still going back to them since it was part of the deal for them giving me credit on another tire so no pictures of that.

Looked around on that side could not find much of anything that would be rubbing. When I had the tire replaced the shop took an extra look around and did not find much of anything. About the only thing they could find that was a big long shot but there was a screw sticking out in the area. Even though it was highly unlikely it touched still adjusted it to be safe.

My setup:

Volk GTF 19x9.5 +17/19x10.5 +24
Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 245/35/19 | 275/35/19

I'm just being extremely paranoid there is probably nothing to worry about but I'm not an expert so I would not know. So my 04 coupe that setup seems fine without having to make any extra changes? It's a silly question to ask after the fact but I did not anticipate any problems from my reading. So I was in disbelieve when it happened so now I'm in paranoid mode about having it happen again.
