Need tires for dry but sometimes cold..

Live in CO, have Jeep for snow but often drive below 40 degrees. Want to keep stock 18 rims on my coupe. Suggestions? I want highest performing tire that doesnt suck in the cold. I know this seems to be highly debated but what sizes front/rear? Thinking 245/40/18 and 265/40/18. Sound good? Need to get soon so please help! Thanks.

Re: Need tires for dry but sometimes cold..

i just order yokohama avs db s2's, all season high performance tires. front- 245/40/18 and rear 255/45/18. i wanted to get something wider for the rear, but 255 was the widest i could find which was manufacturer recommended for an 8" wide rim. anything wider than that went to 8.5 and 9 inch wide rims. anyway, i hear the tires are great, but still lacking in snow traction. i hear the continental extreme all season tires are really good too, and better in the snow than the yokohamas, but you may have trouble finding your size. thats why i got the yokohamas.
