I find it quite hard to find 225/45/18 tires.

Can I run 235/40/18 up front and 255/45/18 on the rear? Any help is appreciated and to be honest, I am trying to find a tire setup that I do not have to re-finance my house for!

To lessen the understeer it would be better to run 245/40/18s on the front. They are the same height as the 225/45/18s, which indeed are hard to find. 235/40/18s would have an overall diameter smaller the the 225/45s. For the rear you can stick with the 245/45s or go to 255/45/18. If it were me, I use the 245/40s in front and 255/45s in back. This would maintain the stagger and improve the handling by lessening the understeer.

After looking a bit, I am now wondering if I should just sell my stockers and buy some 19's (8.5 front and 9.5 rear)? Tires alone for the stock wheels are like $1000, so for $2100, I can buy some sick 19's with tires (Toyo proxes I believe), sell my wheels for $1000 and be out the same amount of money? Opinion on that scenario? Thanks

Ya - That's what I did. Sold my 18s to a guy with a "Z" and bought a set of 18" Nismos. 245/40 and 275/40. I luv 'em.
