Aluminum Pedals - Any performance issues?

Hey, I am about to get some aluminum pedals and had a couple of questions. Are aluminum pedals just a cosmetic thing, or are there any benefits? Also, is the grip of the pedals to the shoe different from the traditional rubber pedal? Better or worse? Do your feet slip?

Thanks

dood.... wtf kind of question is this lol.. yeah its just cosmetic. The grip is probably better iwth the aluminum because there are really high raised rubber spots on it... kidna a stpuid question.... only thing that i know is i have a friend who hated his aluminum pedals on his wrx and didnt like them becuase he couldnt drive barefoot in sumer since they were so hot

2004 Black on Black g coupe 6spd.... aluminum pedals, clear corners, z tube, and pop charger. soon to have 19" volk gt-c's and PIAA xtreme whites in the clearance and corners

Not so stupid of question if your friend has issues....This forum is for informational purposes. Your smart *** comments are not appreciated. I would appreciate it if you kept wise *** comments to yourself.

Yes Aluminum Pedals will certainly help with performance. I installed this mod in my 6MT and I find the pedals are so much lighter that I gaining at least .00001 sec. I am yet to lose a race since I did this install. Be sure you get the drilled pedals

Re: Aluminum Pedals - Any performance issues?

Actually, I got the non-aluminum pedals on my 6MT because ive had bad experience with aluminum pedals in the past on other cars where it tend to get slippery especially with wet shoes. I wear flat bottom shoes when I drive, so not much tread on the bottom of the shoe.

But I'll give the factory aluminum pedals a shot down
the road because the drawback of the non-aluminum pedals is the accelerator pedal being narrow making it a tad more challenging for me to heel&toe (cheater style)...but im pretty use to it.
