possible to reverse powder coat?
I traded my work T1S diamond finish wheels with another member who had his more aggressive T1S wheels powdercoated black , face and barrell. Before the barrell used to be polished and the face was gold.
The front is a reverse lip and the rear is a step lip. My question; is it possible to get the lips polished after they have been powdercoated. I at first liked the look but at night I miss the look of the polished barrel. Any idea who can do it and approximate cost? Thanks guys

this says powder coating is almost impossible to remove without great cost and effort:

this says it's pretty easy:

if you get the powder coating off, polishing the aluminum should be the easy part.

I own a powder coating shop! If it was powdered over polished you should be able to spray some air craft stripper on it and Should start strip fairly quick! If the surface was scuffed up or sand before powdering you are going to have a different issue lol! I dont recommend trying to blast powder off an aluminum wheel do to it will ruff the aluminum up good! I use a stripper from my supplier it will strip powder off to the metal in 5 min or gel stripper in 10-15 min!
