michelin question for 2008 g35s

I'm looking at tires for my 2008 g35s. I would prefer michelins. Has anyone used michelin hydroedge for the front tires with michelin pilots for the rear tires? Obviously I'd prefer pilots all the way around, but michelin doesn't make that for the font.

Always match the speed rating, treadwear index [rubber hardness] and select load index to be at least 125%* of static weight on tire to allow for panic braking, where 1/3 or more of rear weight is shifted to front.

* the safety factor load index should be as high as possible since most people do not inflate tires to max PSI.

For example the front tire of a Q45 has 1180 pounds of weight sitting still, during a panic stop over 300 extra pounds per tire is added so 1480 or 1521 [95 load index] pounds.

The higher the safety strength the longer the tires last and the smaller the slip angle [better handling].

I wouldn't recommend running such different tires and tread patterns front to rear. As Q45 mentioned, match load rating, treadwear, speed rating and tread pattern as closely as possible, otherwise you will not only reduce safety factor, but also will get poorer handling and some unpredictable behavior out of the VDC system.

You realize that the hydroedges only come in a S or a T rated right?

Thanks - I'll just go with bridgestones and play it safe. It's a shame we don't have more tire options.

Ah you should run the same brand model if possible. Mixing and matching different brands isn't good. What size do you have? I'm sure you can find an alternate size close enough.

What is the front and rear sizes you run now?

Not the best idea as completely differ designs, classes, speed ratings, etc. Mixing Tires
