I finally received my Racing Hart C4's today, but instead of the 19x10 inch rear wheels, They (name cannot be disclosed yet) sent me 19x10.5 inch wheels! This really pisses me off! I know it's only a half an inch, but that half an inch could make a big difference! Now I have to make a decision, do I put them on and risk them hitting the fender or not fitting, or do I wait another 2 months for the size I really wanted. Do you think a 19x10.5 inch wheel will be a problem? It's not lowered now, but I plan to put some Tein S Techs on in the future. What would you do?

 

With the offsets Racing Hart provided you, you should be fine. If it does get on the fenders, have the fenders rolled.

 

Rolling the fenders may solve all of your worries.

Do a search and you will find there are a lot of coupe guys runnin 10.5. Search even closer and you may find their offsets too, but we all know how hard it is to get the details sometimes. Most of the sedan owners going staggered (myself included) are running 9.5 so I know your coupe can handle 10.5. You should first contact the seller and tell him of his error. Tell him that you can send them back now at his cost or HE can have you mount them (since in his expert opinion they will fit), but if they rub you will be returning them at his cost. If he is a gambling man and confident in his abilities to reccomend a good setup, then he will tell you to go for it! Just be careful not to scratch them. You might even consider putting tape in the lug holes while you mount them to prevent scratching.

You would say that "I'm all set", because RevHighOnline is an associate of the culprit of my troubles. If I would have just recieved the size I asked for, this wouldn't be a problem. Show me a link to where it says 19x10.5 is the new specs for G35/350z for Racing Hart C4's. Everywhere I see online, it says the 19x9 and 19x10 is specifically for the G35/350z. Of course it would probably fit, but the point is that's not the size I ordered.

You know there is such a thing as trying to help people deal with issues when they ask for it. That's what I was doing. I was using the old school of thought "when life gives you lemons......make lemonade!" YES, that's NOT what he ordered, but now that he has it, he might as well see if he might actually like it better, and he might. There are tons of people in this forum that buy products based on other people's opinions. Well, this is his chance to check the fitment out and form is own. HKS_350GT, do you think it is possible that he may actually like this setup better? We both know the answer to that......yes it is possible. So why not check out all the angles? Not to do so would be closed minded and stupid IMHO. Think outside the box......

G I wouldn't worry about it because I also have a G35 Coupe with the same setup from Racing Hart and it works fine with my Tein coilovers. It fits fine with no rubbing. Feel free to pm me if you have any questions.

Relax man. There is no perfect setup for wheels per car. It's all personal preference. Some people have 19x9/19x10, some people have 19x9.5/19x10.5, some people have 19x8.5/19x10...etc. By no means is 19x10.5 a wrong setup for your car at all. I ran a 20x10.5 on my G and I loved it. If anything, I would be glad that you got a 19x10.5 - it's a wider wheel, giving you a more aggressive setup and a better look! I am sure the offset is perfectly fine to clear the G rear fenders.

I'd be mad if they sent you a smaller wheel, say a 19x9.5 instead of a 19x10 ... but to get wider? I'd keep it without thinking twice!

i'm glad you took your time and explain that none sense to me av8r, what a waste of time. I'm not the one you should be tryin' to talk into keeping the wheels..
all I know is, a PROFESSSIONAL business would def. get a unhappy PAYING customer what he want and ordered in the first place... Instead of tryin' so hard to talk him into keeping somethin' he clearly stated that he doesn't want. Haven't you heard the phrase "customer are always right?" I personally would prob want the 10.5's but everyone has different taste. "when life give you lemons, make lemonade" is for coping with misfortune things in life, it doesn't apply one bit to a paying customer getting what he purchased. I really hope not all the performance parts/wheels vendors on this forum are like you.

All your inputs are great!! And you said it right..."It's all a matter of preference." So the preference should be left up to the customer, not the vendor/distributor! Leave it up to me to determine what looks good on my G, and don't assume I wan't wider wheels because that's what looks aggressive! I didn't pay my hard earned dollars so you could send me what you think is cool or because you overstocked or you couldn't get rid of these rims to someone else. So "when life gives you lemons, and you asked for apples, return the lemons and get the apples!" I spoke to the vendor and after a long discussion, they agreed to replace the rims with the size I wanted. It's just a matter of time right now.

 

You still don't understand HKS. Read ALL of my posts. I agree with you that the customer is always right and that you should get what you order. I never said anything to the contrary. What I did say in a round about way was not to limit himself to one school of thought. Yeah the whole situation is unfortunate, but see if perhaps he got a blessing in disguise. There is no set width for the G35. Many will work. ****_G_'s concern, in his own words, were if the 10.5s would fit.****

_G_ was asking for help, meaning "What are all my options besides the obvious (return them)" That's what I and most people on this site were trying to help him with. I don't think he was looking for someone to hold his hand through the return process as I am sure he is a big boy.

Here's a little analogy I wrote to help you understand ONE angle:

If I ordered a pound of lead from the lead store and they sent me gold instead (because of whatever reason..I don't care), I'm freakin keeping the gold. Then again, maybe I'm allerginc to gold in which case I will demand lead and return the gold. The point is, don't blindly send s--t back when you are not sure exactly of what you have. What if 10.5s hook up better, look better on his car, are worth more, and are basically the shiznit??? Not saying they are, but what if? It's good to ask yourself questions like this or go to a forum so other people can help you brainstorm when you hit the little road bumps in life. Not all bumps are bad.

Your really need to read all the posts and retain all the information in a thread HKS before you give your input; especially if you are planning on taking a shot at another member of this board. If you did you would understand what I was saying before you opened your mouth and took that cheap shot. When you get a little more practice (more than 13 posts) and you've been around a little longer (you registered on 7/27/04 lol), then you can have a little room to be a smartass. Until then, sit back, relax, and take it all in.

Sorry this post was so long, but HKS, you need it! Nobody in this forum should have to be cautious to post an idea because of someone like you. And don't ever think or pretend that you know what I am like. You know knothing about me other than my profile, which you probably haven't even read.

I don't really have time to read all of your bs.. but the lead and gold thing just made my day..LMFAO... being here longer don't mean $--T to me, and i don't really care one bit who you are or what you do. Of course i just registered I just got my car, why would I linger around a forum when I didn't even have a G35 yet?? All I care about is a fellow g owner getting what he spent his hard earned cash on, and not have to hear all kinds of biased opinions and being told what looks good and not on his own car. I just don't want to deal with this kind of $--T in the future and I hope it dosn't happen to me. The guy CLEARLY doesn't want the 10.5's, READ THE POST ABOVE!!! and he's getting it exchanged... so why waste more time bs'ing.
