Rim Size + Width

I'll be honest I searched this forum plenty before posting this, but really could not pin-point my answer.

Girlfriend has a 2006 Infiniti G35 Coupe with the 17" rims model. I know this car came from the factory with wider tires in the rear (barely) but does this mean my rear rims are also slightly wider than the front? Or are all four rims the same size like 17 X 7?

I believe it came with 225-50-17's in the front and 235-50-17's in the rear.

I'm sure its to each their own, but my girlfriend is not a speedster but likes this car, so if all four rims are the exact same width/offset I would like to put the same size tire all the way around for rotation purposes to longer life with tires. First two sets of tires lasted roughly 15,000 tops with just regular easy driving.

Thanks for any clarification....

I believe the stock 17s are 7" +40 all around. It's advised to keep the tires staggered. The forums say that doing otherwise will throw VDC off. But I know a few people that have done this with no ill effects.

You can always flip (side to side) the tires if you stay with staggered tires. My Toyo T1Rs lasted me about 20k miles, flipped. I'm betting my Toyos were softer than whatever tires your g/f is running now. Flip them before it's too late and you'll squeeze some more our of 'em.
