NEED HELP Setting my offset. Looking for aggressive look

Can someone please help me out. How do you figure out which wheel spacers to use. I have a 2004 G35 Coupe, I just bought some 18" after market rims. I want to set my offset to have a agressive look. I want my wheels to be flush with my fenders. My new rims are 18"x7.5 Offset: +40mm. Tires I'm using are pirelli 245/40/18. I have never bought or used wheel spacers before so I know nothing about them. I'm also totally new to the G-World so I apologize if similar threads have been already posted. First off how do you figure out what offset to go with? Second, using wheel spacers is it safe? does it affect car handling? Where can I get quality wheel spacers for cheap? I'm dont want my wheels sticking out past my fenders, I want them to be flush. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

7.5" +40? I'm not sure that they make spacers big enough to make your wheels flush...

I have a set of 25mm H&R DRM (lugs built in)... would give an effective offset of +15

will sell if local

Maybe he can stack two spacers together . Just kidding OP, don't do that.

But to answer your other questions.

There are debates whether spacers are safe or not, but just make sure you buy the spacers with the extended lugs attached and buy a good brand like the Ichiba V2 spacers, and you should be fine. A lot of people on this board run wheel spacers and there's rarely any problems with them.

Since spacers push the wheels out further, I would think it has come effect on handling. But I doubt its anything significant or noticable.

You can buy spacers from our vendors in the market place. But the biggest ones I've seen are 30mm, and I don't think its enough for your setup.

If im wrong about any of this info, please feel free to correct me.

^^^ I previously was 8.5 +35 which was perfectly flush to wheel-well fender edge... after having fenders flared I installed 25mm spacers - and now running 20mm... I can seriously say there is a perceivable difference (better) in cornering...

You wouldn't think pushing the wheels out an inch or so would make much difference - it truly did for me.

I haven't been running spacers very long... but so far, no issues at all.

However, I do feel its better to run the right size wheel... but in my case its very, very hard to find the correct offset for the fenders the way they are now.

I didn't really notice a difference in handling when i installed my spacers.... But it does make sense that having a wider stance would help.

And yeah, itd be better if you can avoid spacers by having the correct wheel specs. But in this case, I think he'd need like 55-60mm spacers to be flush with the fender...

Found some wheel adapters that might come close.

I read at few sites, that wheel adapters are much safer than spacers. I found a set of 1.25" wheel adapters on ebay. Let me know what you guys think. I'm a little hesitant because these might be cheap in quality.

I'd just get buy a set of quality 30mm spacers from a trusted vendor on this site. And personally, I wouldn't trust some generic ebay brand spacers with my life.... If one of those spacers were to break while going 70+ on the freeway....

It doesn't really matter what kind of spacers you use - bolt on versus non-bolt on - so long as the studs are strong.

read post # 5... those are adapters (lugs built in)... H&R is about as quality of a spacer/adapter as you're gonna get.

BTW, the link you posted are generic size... I wouldn't trust the lug hole configuration (based on the photo)... buy a set that is the specific size for our lug pattern.

Extended studs will come with most wheel spacers, such as Ichiba and H&R.
