Need new tires for OEM 19" rims

I had a blowout on a rear tire today, so it's time to get a new set. I've been using the Bridgestone Potenza stock tires (245/40/19) but have been pretty disappointed with the tread life, which I assume I can chalk up to being summer tires and living in a city with poor roads. The stock fronts are ready for replacement as well, at 48k miles, and I'm on my 2nd set of rears (replaced at 26k).

I'm looking for a solid all-season tire with good tread life. Since I live in the Balt/DC metro area, there aren't really any places I can open it up so handling isn't as much a priority as tread life would be. Any suggestions?

Thanks! I'm a total rookie when it comes to this stuff so please break it down like baby talk for me.

I to live in MD/VA..

Best tires for this area is UHP A/S tires. This kind of tire is going to give you the best of both worlds and last about 50K miles, they have an tire rating of 550.
