Will 16" rims clear OEM brakes

Hey guys/girls,

Quick question: I live in Salt Lake City, so I need winter tires.....I was wondering if maybe anyone has ever tired 16inch rims on their car and if it would clear the 2003 Sedan Non-Brembo brakes......because I want to get the 1997 Maxima 5-spoke rims or maybe the 300ZX ones.

Thanks for your times people,

- Resad

03s have the small brakes and even had 16" as oem on the base cloth models. So in theory, a 16" rim would clear. Now if the maxima wheels clear is another story. The maxima wheels have a ton of offset and not alot of spoke clearance. Given a choice, I'd go with the Z32 300zx na wheels as they had to clear the oem 4 piston calipers. But I forget their offsets.

Ok, thanks Jeff........so 300ZX are good to go.......I would prefer maxima wheels though, but than again, I would probably need some wheel spacers too

Maxima are FWD, so the offsets may be different.

16" rims should clear the 03/04 brakes (and 05x), but not the 05+ brakes as they are larger.

The 4 gen maxima 16s have like 45mm offset or so. I can't remember. But since both the maxima and the G both use the smaller 11.5" ish rotors and both calipers are 1 piston, there's a good chance at them fitting "okay". I think the stock sedan wheels are 40-45mm or something also.

stock sedan is +45 on a 17x7" rim

I've NEVER seen a stock G35 sedan with 16" rims.

OP - where in SLC do you live? I'm in T-ville.

Yes they will clear. As some above have said, the very early 03 sedans came with 16's and optional 17's.

@myGi$Gangsta

Don't really like the limo tint, than I can't see **** backing up.....anyways, the question was for Side Mirrors, because I know that BMW and Merc have them, I just thought that there will be something for our cars.

@ttank

Thanks man
