I had thought about refinishing mine with duplicolor silver, but since my car is Brilliant Silver I wasn't sure how it would look. I prefer the OEM color which is kind of between silver and gunmetal. Three of the four Coupe 18's I got are in really good shape. The fourth isn't bad, but has several chips in the paint. I'll probably just wait for a fourth to pop up and sell the chipped up one I have.

1. washed the wheels with car soap and dryed them
2. taped up the tire so paint wont get on it USED DUCK TAPE OTHER TAPE SLIPPED OUT
3. wet sanded down the entire whell until smooth 3M 1500 GRIT
4. put bondo on the curd rash and damaged parts and let it dry
5. sanded down were the bondo was until i even it out with the rim
6. then cleaned wheel down i put with dry towel
7. i used 1 can of primer per rim it was about 4 to 5 coats also did the inside don't forget to sand it down to
8. let rim dry well then used silver paint also about 4 to 5 coats even did the inside of the wheel to
9. let the wheels dry for about 1hr and wet sanded a bit rough spots and dryed it up and throw on the clear coat about 3 coats because i notice if u put to much gets nasty throws the clear coat shine out 1 clear coat can lasted for all 4 rims
10. i let them dry over night then next morning took ofF tape from tire and if any paint got on tire comes off quick with tire shine put a bit on and wipeD off
11. mounted them on the car and took it for a wash...

PRIMER: DUPLI-COLOR FILLER PRIMER GREY ...ALSO HELPED TO FILL IN SMALL DINGS

PAINT: DUPLI-COLOR HIGH PERFORMANCE WHEEL COAT SILVER WP101

CLEAR COAT: rust-oleum clear coat

SAND PAPER USED 3M 1500 GRIT

YOU CAN PICK THIS UP AT ANY AUTOZONE OR O'REILYS

HOPE THIS HELPS OUT!!

Around here...guys would toss them up on CL like that and call them "MINT" and take a picture from 5 feet away.

Then they get upset when I show up and don't want to buy them

Wow, I hope I can get that much for mine. My tires are only a year old too. Hopefully someone will want them for a snow set or something.

Been thinking of doing the duplicolor restoration process on one of my coupe 18's. They look coo in the pictures you put up. Just one question, how the finish compare to OEM in person from a 1 to 10???
