scalloped tires?
scalloped tires?
So I bought a G about 2 months ago and about 2-3 weeks ago I had been hearing a loud noise coming from the front end, most notably when I turn or come to a stop so I took it back to the dealer and they told me it was a problem called scalloped tires and it is very common in these cars and there is also nothing I can do about it. Even if I bought new tires the noise will be back. I just wanted to see if other people had this problem or if this is actually true and they weren't trying to screw me so something will go wrong then I have to pay( you never know) I had never heard of this before and Im gonna google it just wanted some info here as well, thanks!
First time I've heard that term used on the forums. And no, I doubt it's normal; read up on it on google--apparently it's caused by mounting/balancing issues, or other tire-related maladies, and possibly shock/strut issues. I'd get new tires mounted/balanced somewhere else, and not at that dealership. Also have your suspension inspeced...gl
