Brake Pad recommendation

I can't take this BS w/ the brakes squealing as much as they do. Dealer was of no help. So I've decided to change the pads and see if that helps. I've come across some pads and wanted feedback from you guys.

hopupracing.com has Project MU type HC-titan Kai brake pads. $186.00 Front only

Intense motorsports.com has metal matrix front race pads for the brembo which I forgot to mention is what I have....$239.00

They also carry Nismo r-tune front pads $155. are these the ones that are on my car now???

Anyway, let me know what you guys think...Want to place order asap.

Whats up w/ the ebc greenstuff. cant find it for the G anywhere. Thanx again

Re: Brake Pad recommendation

The titan kai are race pads. They will probably be louder than stock and won't grab as well when cold. I'll probably be getting a set of these for my rear brembos for the track. For project mu pads, go to evasivemotorsports.com. They're a little less expensive than hopup. Also, the best street pads are the ns series. They go for about $75-85.

I've heard that the nismo r-tunes are basically hawk hps+ pads that are rebadged as nismo. Get the hps+ for a lot less if you want to go this way. However, the hps+ do tend to squeek. If you want hawk, go with the hps. Some people have good luck with them while others report squeeking.

Greenstuff can be purchased from tirerack, I believe.

The squeeking could be from improper bedding. If you didn't bed your brakes in, I would consider trying that. There are several threads on this in all of the forums.

Hope this helps.

Re: Brake Pad recommendation

Agree w/ the last post... I changed my OEM brakes out 1,200 miles ago to EBC Greenstuff on the fronts (will do the rears after 20k miles) and they don't squeal at all and the reduction in dust is significant.... not that expensive either.. can get from a bunch of sites..do some looking to get the best price

EBC Model number you'll want is DP2775 if you choose to go with them.

Re: Brake Pad recommendation

I have EBC Greenstuff... amazing pads. Literally no brake dust. Just make sure you get, I think silicon gel, for the back if the pads and rub alot on where the pistons touch the pads to prevent squeeling and metal on metal rubbing.

Thanks - Joey Avino
