SSR went out of business and their building in japan is empty...

 

did tirerack buy them out? looks like they are selling "speed star" wheels that look exactly like ssr. also, I thought SSR stood for speed star racing? Or is that just left over inventory they're selling?

 

^ tirerack took all of their inventory. those are genuine speedstar wheels. SSR is speed star racing, and origin name Speed Star Wheel. hence the speedstarwheel.co.jp or something like that.

 

i'm not sure if tirerack bought out all their inventory. when they(ssr) made the announcement, they already had a container out on the water for tirerack. i was under the impression that they were being reorganized, but i suppose if topsecret2001 has other information... if you are looking for SSRs, give tirerack a call. i'd imagine they probably have the most inventory. i called around to some of the regular distributors, and they were'nt able to help. as far as custom offsets/lip sizes, you may be SOL. i went w/ some more of the common offsets +37/+55.

oh and just to clarify, those are JP scaras on all_star_gene's car

 

i heard another company bought them out and that they should be back in production in about a month~
