What size spacers you think I should throw on this..

Well I originally posted this question in the Sedan section. Lots of contradicting posts im getting and idk what to do. So I was thinking posting here might get a better response and answer a few of my questions.

My stock 18's what size spacers you think I should throw on this. I dont want a small spacer I want maybe 20mm or 25mm but what do i know... Actually Nothing really about spacers actually how they go on or work or anything.. Will it make the car handle better or is it just an appearance kinda thing..

Also do you have to get different size spacers depending on the wheel you have.. Just wondering for when I get 19" aftermarket wheels if I will need to get diff spacers or its not worth to purchase spacers at this time until I get aftermarket wheels or what.

Im thinking 20mm for the front and 25mm for the rear? too much up front?

I say this because in this DIY https://g35driver.com/forums/brakes-...tallation.html he put 25mm spacers all around on his stock wheels and I like the look in the rear of his 25mm or am I too low to do 25mm in the rear? idk this is confusing! and im confused!

So many people contradicting each other

Spacers are basically bolt on that will push out your current wheels out a bit. Your caster might be off by a bit, but nothing that you will notice.

On my coupe, I ran 15mm front and 25mm spacers rear on my OEM rays until I got my wheels.

I'm not too sure on Sedan factory wheel offsets or what offsets are good for a Sedan set up, but judging by your picture that you've posted, you might actually be good getting a 15mm or 20mm spacer all around to be a bit more flush.

The Ichiba V2 spacers are a bolt on. All you would have to do is bolt the spacer on with the provided lugs that they come with. Torque down the spacer and then put your wheel onto the hub. Torque the wheel lugs down and then you're good to go.

As for getting your new aftermarket wheels. The ideal situation would to not have to run spacers, especially if you're getting a new wheel. Get the offset in the wheel that you want so you don't have to get spacers, to me that just makes sense.

Finally an answer that answered alot of my questions! Okay well since I am not getting aftermarket wheels prob for a while I guess I will run some spacers on these to make them a little more flush. I will prob end up running 20mms all around Im guessing. Thank you very much for clearing that up..

One more thing.. since tires are pushed out wider does that change performance/handling of the car for better or for worse?

you said Ichiba V2 spacers are bolt on? Does that mean that other brands are not direct bolt ons?

I only said Ichiba V2 were bolt-on because those were the ones that I had. I am sure other brands like the Project Kics have them as bolt on as well.

I honestly didn't notice a difference with the handling / performance of the car, but again, it may throw off your caster a bit... but probably not by much. Caster isn't going to affect your tire wear or anything, just your turn radius. If it does affect your caster, I wouldn't imagine that it would be more then .5 degrees or so.

Edit: I just looked up your Sedan 18" off-sets and it looks like its a +45 from the factory. If you run a 20mm spacer, it will put you at a +25. Again, I don't know much about Sedan offsets or where you need to be at to be flush, since Sedan offsets tend to be higher then the Coupes. I would recommend that you do some research and look and see what offsets some of the Sedan owners are running here and what you need to be at to be flush with your fender.

But don't go thinking that you can run some crazy offset like Donpisto and get away with it without any type of fender work or negative camber.

okay one other question.. I stuck my hand under the fender between the tire and fender and it feels like if I were to push my wheel out anymore it would be hitting the fender. I guess thats a given I need to roll my fenders?

In the rear, your fenders are at a 90 degree angle. In the front, they're already rolled to a 45 degree angle.

Again, I don't know much about the offset of a Sedan and what you guys need to do to get your wheels to fit. So, I would recommend you do some research in the Sedan thread or even browse through the wheel threads. I don't want to recommend you do something and it turns out to be wrong.

But judging by the picture, I will assume that you would need to at least roll your rears.

Edit: Tim or Marcus... I hope one of you all see this so you can chime in on this.

Not for a sedan

Just measure how far the side of the tire is to the fender. That will give you an idea of what size spacers you will need.

get 8 30mm spacers and stack'em on each hub, that'll be some sick azz negative offset but make sure you roll your fenders and run some sick neg camber

Son, I'm here. Sadly though I'm no wheel expert but I'll add my thoughts.

OP we also need to know what tire sizes and any drop you are running to help with the advice. I'm going to assume for the sake of discussion you're running stock (235/45/18 I believe) You need to get to somewhere around +20to +25 to be fairly flush so I think 20-25 mm spacers are right in the ballpark for what you need. A fender roll might be needed as well.

Hope this helps.

Tim! You saved the day. You're just a few days late though.... haha. And thanks to you, I learned something new on a Sedan as well.
