to chrome or not to chrome my 20" wheels opinion

Guy,
I'm hit a curb and bend my iforged wheels, so I took it in to get it repaired ( 160 bucks) and I asked if they could chrome my polished lip. They said they could for 110 bucks per wheel.
My question to you is, should I chrome my lips? I know they will make my wheels a bit heavier but they will look better and be easier to clean. On top of that, I wanted them chrome in the first place but Iforged messed up my order and I settled for the high polish. Here is a pic of what they look like now.

chrome is harder to clean you see the dust / water spots. I would leave them their origional color. You spent alot on wheels don't make them look ghetto.

lol, I went with chrome because it is easy to clean them. Polished is a bitch! Trust me I polish cycle frames all the time. Its a pain in the ****! Just so you know what Im talking about heres me site. www.tacoma.gixxer.com As for weight, chrome doesnt add much weight at all! If you have a three piece rim they only chrome the lip and face. The rear hoop(biggest part) is polished. The weight vs polished subject is funny to me! I see it ALL the time on this site. But yet a LOT of you wont think twice before ordering a 10.5 inch rear rim with a 285 tire! Pretty funny huh! Im running 20x8.5 and 20x9.5 with a 3.8in rear lip and it weights less then stock!

I don't know much about weight. To me chrome just looks better.

I made up my mind.. GONNA CHROME THE LIPS.
I called the shop and they will give me a lifetime gurantee on the chrome from fading flaking etc...
They will take my 3 piece wheels apart to do the chroming.
I'll take pics later.
Thanks

I wish I would have gotten chrome lips. Polishing is a PITA. And they never have that super sparkle you get with chrome.

It would have been cool if you would have weighed one of your rims before they were chromed and then weighed one of your rims after they were chromed to see the weight difference.

I know that in the chroming process they have to add a layer of nickel, a layer of copper and then add the layer of chrome. Apparently chrome will not stick to aluminum so they have to layer on 2 additional materials.

Back to the topic, please post pics. We all love eye candy!

Mr Galvez,
Your order form states Brushed Aluminum Finish in your writing. I am curious to how we messed up the order.

Tony,
I built what you wrote down on the order, so if it says brushed aluminum, that means you want brushed aluminum.
