Quite Tires

Picked up a used 08 X that came with Hankook Ventus V4's
After a few long trips I just can't stand the road noise anymore.

Whats the quietest tire you have ever owned?

I'm considering the Continental Extreme Contact DWS or the Michelin Primacy MXV4. Conti is a performance tire and the Michelin is a touring tire. Michelin should be quieter. I'm willing to give up performance for less noise.

Really? Maybe my alignment is off or I'm just crazy?
My boss just picked up a brand new G37 sedan. I'm going to see if he will take me for a ride so I can compare the noise level.

Definitely continental DWS. My friend has them on his Jetta Wagon and they aren't loud what so ever. I actually just ordered the Extremewintercontact snow tires for my car and they are supposedly pretty quiet.

And I didn't know that you could buy quite tires

Its possible the car had a bad alignment before and the tires wore incorrectly causing them to become loud but who knows. I have put about 2 thousand miles on my hankooks and I love them so far but if I had the money to spend when I got them I would have gotten Toyo proxes again. Loved those tires.

I have these tires on my 03 Coupe that I just picked up. They are not too bad until you get to about 45-50 MPH and then they are pretty loud on the highway. I drive mostly city anyway so it doesn't bother me a whole lot, but when these are done I will definitely replace them with something else. I'm almost certain the car needs an alignment based on the wear patterns too, there is some mild feathering that indicates it is out of spec to me. No sense in doing that though until I replace these, it won't make it better since the wear pattern can't be corrected.
