Same tire size for all 4, winters? and ideal 17" size?

hi guys,

i have been searching through the forum regarding my question and all i am reading is mixed ideas.

Question: i will be buying winter tires for my 2003 coupe, my rims are 17", previous owner had 225/50/17 and 235/50/17 , i want to buy all four same size (local tire dealers says its ok to have 4 same size, but didnt wanna rely on them )

should i still go with the same staggered size, or having same size on four has no effect whatsoever on my car?(ecu, speedometer, this and that )

if same size what is the ideal size for all 4?

thanks.

Musti

You probably can run the same size all around, but it's not ideal for your VDC system (Vehicle Dynamic Control) and can cause some unexpected behavior in turns.

I run 225/50-17 front and 225/55-17 rear for my winter set on my '04 coupe (same specs). You can also run 225/50-17 and 235/50-17 if you want, but narrower is better for winter tires.

Just order a proper set from Tire Rack.

hi guys, just an update, i called the local infiniti dealers in toronto to see what size they sell normally and i went with it which is 225/55/17 all around, no problem so far,no problem with the turns or VDC acting weird, so all in all everything is good but it hasnt snowed properly yet in Toronto.

another good thing is my car's bottom doesnt touch as much as i used to do with the previous stock winter offsets when i try to get out of my steep underground garage.

musti82 keep me posted bro, I might have to run the same set up. I went to costco cause they had a sale on bridgestone blizzaks. However to get the same size I have now 225/50/17 235/50/17 they have to give me 2 different sets of blizzaks for the front and back diff tread and diff speed rating. Not sure if thats ok.

Any thought's guys? any good sites as well to buy these? Tirerack doesnt have my rear size.

It could work, but not recommended.

Is anyone running 225/50/17's all around having any issues (VDC)?
