OP I feel your pain. I too have stripped a couple of nuts in my Ichiba V2 spacers already and I'm super careful with my stuff. The kit you listed is the same one I bought and it doesn't work because the removers are low profile and don't get enough of a grip to work. Get the same kit with deeper removers and it should do the trick.

And yes, my nuts are 17mm. :icon38:

Weird, I've never had a set of spacers that were 17s

w4kj4k 11-29-2010 09:20 AM

Yeh i'm sure they're the real V2's O_O

Hey blue dream, im doing a search on google and sears and i only see one size set.. i dont see the deeper ones

Woops, i kept on looking and... since the spacer nut is 17 mm. Is this what you used? http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1...61000P?prdNo=7

First time I heard of this too. I tightened mine to about 100lbs and have had no problems. BTW - mine have 19mm nuts

I know i had to replace all the lug studs on my Moser Axles for my Mustang. After the 3rd one stripped I said F' it and got all new studs and lug nuts from NAPA.

Kinda sucks when a company with a good product cuts corners with inferior nuts and bolts.

w4kj4k 11-29-2010 09:38 AM

On top of that, have you had any experience with those Craftman Bolt-Out nut removers?

megacrazy 11-29-2010 09:55 AM

Same thing happened to me with their 15mm spacers. Their nuts are soft and shallow as hell (hmmmmm). Anyway, I emailed them and complained and they sent me like 10 spares free saying they should be torqued at 75-80 lbs. I drilled out the stud and saved the spacer...but it took forever.

You have to be very careful when you tighten them to hold the wrench perfectly perpendicular to the nut...If it slips off you can do that once...twice maximum and the nut is gone.

Has anyone found a replacement for their shallow type nuts and is there a technical reason why they are using such a soft material?

w4kj4k 11-29-2010 09:56 AM

^ exactly! if it slips... /gg

Can't we just get 17mm nuts from home depot or something?

I found the same thing.
I was OK as long as I was very careful.

My V2 spacers have different nuts. The 15mm spacers come with 17mm nuts and the 20mm spacers have 19mm nuts. Strange.

I had the same problem! I had my v2 spacers on for 6 months. When I went to take them off the driver side front and rear came off no problem. But when I went to take off the passenger side 3 nuts on the rear were seized and 2 on the front. We tried everything to get them off and no luck. We ended up stripping the nuts and then had to torch and chisel them off. I also sent to emails to ichiba and still have had no response. After doing some research I realized I'm not the only person that this has happened too. So now I have one good 25mm & 20mm spacer if anyone need one or both. Here's some pictures
