ji808: I'm pretty sure our lips are clear coated. I wash mine with the basic soap & water (NO abrasive materials)... I also put a light coat of wax every now and then to help keep them clean, plus it helps ever so slightly with brake dust.

Clean the rims as you would clean your paint... Just think, would I put this on my paint? If not, then it doesn't touch the rims. PITA, but that's the price for having shiny rims...

 

I have the SBC J8s....I clean my rims once in 2 days. Thats the only way to keep the SBC rare looking. Of course u don't have to clean it very oftenly, but at that point, u're losing the value of the SBC =).
