Need opinions on 20" iforged aeros

What do you guys think about 20" iforged aeros w/ a brushed aluminum finish on my blue g? I was totally set on these wheels, but i keep seeing really nice 19s around and now i feel like im making the wrong decision. Opinions would be appreciated.

I couldnt find a picture of it on a g, but here are some pictures of it on a porsche and these are only 19s

on a benz

They look hot. I don't think you can go wrong with 20s unless you are concerned about the extra weight slowing you down.

Re: Need opinions on 20" iforged aeros

My opinion, i would not go with them.

For a couple reasons. My buddy who owns a tunning shop out in NY tried to deal with them. It took him about atleast 3 weeks to get a hold of someone at Iforged. After then getting a hold of them, he wanted to place the order. So he goes, they say 3 months. He waits for 3 months nothing. Waited another 6 and nothing.

So he just said forget it and went with another company. From what he told me he went with a set of used HRE's.

My opinion if your willing to wait. Go with them. Iforged makes awesome wheels dont get me wrong, but i would not want to deal with people who dont wanna take orders.

Atleast thats what it sounded like from my friend.

Also i know you know some guys at OHC in Northridge, talk to them and see what they say.

I wholeheartedly agree. Go to any site, BMW, Audi, 350Z, even this site, and you'll hear horror stories about the wait and the customer service. I waited twelve weeks to get my Aeros when I was told they would be at my door in four. No explanation, no apology, nothing (then they sent me used, busted-up center caps and forgot one of the valve stems). They do make exceptional wheels but I'd rather give my business to someone who deserves it.
On another note, if you do go with the brushed aluminum, make sure you get the lip clear coated. I didn't and my four inch lip pits and stains every single time it gets wet. Not fun.
Bottom line, they know a lot about making wheels but have a lot to learn about doing good business.

I forgot to add that if I could do it again, I would go with 20's. Reason being the lip is so large in the back (4") that the rim appears smaller than it is. The actual face of the rim is sunken so far in that sometimes it looks more like an 18 than a 19. Go with the 20's IMO.

Thanks for the concern guys. I don't know, maybe now that its winter, the wait wont be too long since its snowing in other states.

Rob575 - doesnt the polished lip already come with ceramic coating without me saying?

Re: Need opinions on 20" iforged aeros

You'd think it would, for a G a piece, right?
Unfortunately, the answer is no. There's no protective coating on them whatsoever, just bare aluminum. When I asked Steve why they didn't put the clear coat on, his response was "cause you didn't ask." Thanks, pal. Nice talkin' to you.
I made the mistake of assuming there would be some sort of protection for the metal; don't do the same. Ask when you submit your order for the clear coating on the lip! In my opinion the face doesn't really need it, but it certainly couldn't hurt either.
Hope this helps.

There's some benefits on having the lips just polished(no clear-coat), if you ever have a scratch or curb mark, you can easily re-polish them and they will look the same as before. Try doing that with the clear coat, it'll look different than the other 3 wheels. Just my 2$.
