Best setting of Tein Basic?

Hi everyone, I am new to the forum and I just bought a set of Tein Basic Coilover and wondering what is the proper height setting for coupe?

As refered to the spec, the recommandation is front -1.5 and rear -0.9
So they suggested the front should lower a bit more than the rear, rather than something like 1 inch all around, as most of us did.

So just wondering will there be anything bad to the car, if I set something like -0.8 for the front and -1.2 for the rear?

According to spec, the tein basic spring rate is 504lbs (front & rear)...then will there be any stiffness difference between different height settings?

Anyone know?

Re: Best setting of Tein Basic?

It's possible to go with that ride height set up but it may not "look" right considering the car would be lower in the rear than the fronts. If you look at the car at the stock height, you'll notice that the front fender well is slightly higher than the rears. I believe that's one of the reasons why Tein suggests going slightly lower in front than the rears; to offset the higher fender well gap. Cars in general tend to have the higher fender well gap up front. Regardless of height, the Basic cannot adjust for damping or spring pre-load. As a result, the ride stiffness should not be affected by ride height.

Re: Best setting of Tein Basic?

Just to clear something up, the point of lowering the car more in the front is not for aesthetic purposes. When you change the ride height of any corner, it changes the corner weight and thus changes the way the car handles. If you lower the car more in the back, it would put more weight on your rear tires, thus giving less traction in the rear. It would probably clear up some of the understeer problem, but you would have A LOT of oversteer issues.
