KDW2's vs Hankook v12 on coupe
Looking at maybe getting a set of KDW2s for my coupe. 245/35/19 275/35/19. I know there noisy. I had some on a sedan 245/40/18. How do they do on the coupes. I've heard that they don't wear well on coupes from a local tire/wheel retailer. How do the hankooks compare to the KDW2s in the rain. I like the KDW2 on my sedan in the rain. I didn't mind the noise on the sedan. I have never used the Hankooks. I don't like tires that suck in the rain. Had some hi end tires that sucked in the rain.
thanks

They will ride as loudly as the 18's you had on the sedan. Great tire for dry/wet but turn up the radio or you'll hear them a lot. Due to the camber on the coupe and no ability to rotate they may wear a bit more on the rears, but that's the case with any tire you put on the rear. I would say the BFG would be a tad better in the wet compared to the V12's. If you liked the tire and didn't mind the noise I'd stick with them.

The amount of noise was enough for me to get rid of the KDW2 on my stock 18s and Neal hit the nail on the head about the wear issues related to the coupe in general.
I have the Hankook v12 on my 19 setup and I love them. I am on my second set, but different size and love them. I am thinking of trying something else, but that is more of a "hey lets try this" notion than being unsatisified.

I run these on my DD G coupe. For daily driving it's a solid tire. Good wet/dry grip, relatively quiet compared to many other tires out there, wearing well at over 10k miles now. That being said, not my go to tire for the track, sidewalls are a bit mushy and feedback can be a little numb/delayed.
Most people track their Gs rarely if ever, if you need a strong track tire look elsewhere. If you drive your car to work and on the weekends, the V12s are affordable and a great daily driver tire.

I have the Hankook V12's as well. They grip very well in wet and dry condition. The sidewall is a tiny bit soft. I have had the Toyo T1R's and the Falken 452's and in my opinion they out perform those two tires. They Hankooks are cheaper(according to the different places I have gone).
IP350GT do you feel the toyo and falken out preform the kdw2 and hankook? Just trying to clarify. Anything in particular that you liked better?

Dont forget new tires tend to be greasey...you should find them to be a great tire still. I've tracked mine a few times and they actually did really well for me, I did turn up the air pressure knowing the sidewalls were soft. I am probably going to replace them this summer, I am just not sure if i will stick with them or try a Nitto tire or maybe even something else.

Wow, Ive had no problems with the KDW2s. Only had them for about a month, but overall I like them. The traction did get a little worse after I lowered the car but I havent gotten an alignment or adjusted my camber yet. The tire noise is no worse than the Bridgstones that came with the car when I bought it and has gotten better as Ive put more miles on them. I'll have to try the V12s when it comes time.

I have Hankook V12 for my coupe for a while now.
They are probably the best tires at the price. They also last for a long time with the right wheel alignment. I had my fronts for 22k miles and it still had 8/12!
Performance is definately not as good as the OEM Potenza, but hey you pay 1/2!
My only complain is the noise. They are much louder than the Potenzas...
