20mm spacers to clear brembos with 17X7 rims?

I'm preparing for winter. kinda soon I know.
Had an accident last winter running 19 rims with all weather tire. and my super soft rims got slight bents all around.
so this year, it seems like I'll have to move my a** and get ready early and put a set of winter tires during the season.
I was told that 17 coupe rims can easily clear the brembos with 3mm spacers, maybe 5mm it was. however, I have a set of 17" sedan rims already and thinking about putting 20mm spacers to fit it onto brembos.
I'll be asking my friend to borrow me a 20mm spacer and try putting it on to see if this clears.
before I go ahead and do this, I was wondering if any of the forum members have expirienced this certain situation and were able to resolve it.

I think the bigger issue is if the 17" wheel will clear the rotor, not the caliper.

If the rotor clears a 20mm will be more than enough to clear the caliper. But the rotor should be your concern, there is no way around that.

Thanks for your input. Took the rough measurements with a measure tape. And yeah, i think the clearance issue with the rotors can really be the main issue here with the 17x7. Gotta get myself a coupe rims now. Or replace back to stock brake during this following winter.

Get those and mount some blizzaks on it. you'll be good for the next few winters.

You'd be better off just finding some used 18s as Nghiars said than swapping the brakes off!
