Really how the **** do you think stretching the diameter would make sense?
Looking like you need to run a 225/35 tire then do the rest in fender work very easy to pull the extra couple mm outta the front fenders.

Ok, so after seeing this thread on a pc and not a 3 inch screen. I've learned a bit more.
http://www.measurespeed.com/axis-rims-wheel-weight.php
Axis Milano Plus 20"
8.5 inch 28lbs
What I don't understand is the stretching effect. I can understand the fact that if a wheel is say 200mm and stretched to 245 mm it'll stretch the sidewalls.
But in mm to inch
8.5 inch [international, U.S.] = 215.9 millimeter
So even if I were to get 215 - 35 or any other variant in 215's How would I "stretch" the tire? ... I mean damn, the tire would have to be 205's
...
OR
Am I missing something here?

Ok I'll explain this to your briefly.
I'll use my wheels as a quick example
My rear wheel is an 18x11, the recommend tire size for an 18x11 wheel is between 285/35/18 and 305/35/18
I mounted a 255/35/18 so that the tread will pull away from the bead *bead being the location in which the tire will seat itself and "grab" the wheel to seal and hold air.
SOO technically, the width of an 11" wheel in MM is 275mm when you stretch a 255 onto that wheel you are stretch the tire by 10mm each way (20mm total) this causes more clear straight up and down from the lip of the wheel. That is what will help you clear your fender.
This is a 215/35/18 on a 9.5" wheel

This is a 245/35/18 on a 9.5" wheel, same width of wheel but see the tire is not pulled away from the edge of the lip.

But yea you're on the right track, anything smaller than a 9" wide wheel is only ever going to see a very mild stretch.

I can understand that much, but what boggles me a bit is the fact that
Firstly i don't know **** about tires/wheels.
Second off,
I have a 8.5inch wheel so to get this effect:

I'd need to go with a smaller width other than 215?
