Making a softer ride on 20s

I have beautiful 20" wheels on my G. I'm running 245-35-20 and 275-30-20. I'm really missing the softer ride of the 18s. I've been doing some research and found that if I get better tires it could make a world of difference. I'm running brand new Nexen N3000s. I was looking at the Continental DWS. I've read that they have a softer sidewall. Does that equal a much softer (less harsh) ride? Do tires really make a huge difference? I figured I'd ask the exprets, you G drivers. By the way, if anyone wants to buy my Nexen N3000s they are for sale. I got them less than 2k ago and I have the receipt. asking $400 for all four and am located in the Los Angeles area. So, do tires make a huge difference? Will I notice? Thanks!

You have thin sidewalls on the rear. I have 295-30-20s and ride is awesome!

However, i'm on Tein Comfort coilovers.

20's are going to ride rougher than 18's.
I dont think that you will notice much if any change in ride quility by changing brands. What suspension are you on?

I don't believe the brand of tires will make that much difference, the issue is the size of your sidewall. You could go from 30 to 35s in the rear but I doubt you'll notice much difference. Hindsight, you should have looked into the +/- of 20" rims....

What everyone is telling you, just think about the loss of the thickness of tire from 18" to 20", that is going to be that huge difference. Like gary said, jumping to 35s in the rear would help, but it won't be that much better.

You can get a set of adjustable struts to help, but really this is just part of running big rims.

Ill let you know what it's like going from a 35 series to a 30 series on a 20" in a few days when my front tires arrive. I just swapped from a 255/35/20 to a 255/30/20.

How has the ride changed? I'm really really curious. I hope going with some good tires and raising the profile to a 35 in the rear helps me.

Many Thanks for all the comments

The only thing that I noticed when I changed from the 245/35/20~255/35/20 to the 225/35/20 ~ 255/30/20 was a little more road noise. The ride feels the same.

Suspension has a lot more to do with ride than anything. I thought it was my 20's also, I had megan racing coilover (not adjusted right and bottoming out) Then I switch to 350z Tein S techs and ZOMG difference

Now that it's been a few days. Any difference in ride? I'm curious about the difference in road noise. What tires did you have and what tires did you change to? Thanks for the advice!!!
