New G owner - questions about ADVAN RS

Hey all,

Just picked up an 06 coupe. Super stocked to have a comfortable yet quick DD.

Anyway, I am in the process of buying all of the aftermarket parts I am going to be putting on the car and I have decided on ADVAN RS's. I want 18x10 with a 22mm offset all the way around, however, I have been hearing that this setup would not be compatible with a big brake kit, which I intend to purchase after the wheels.

I am not sure I want to go with a staggered look, as I like the bulging look a bit more, and have always had staggered wheels in the past.

Can any of you shed some light on this issue? For any of you ADVAN RS owners, how do you like the wheel? And, most importantly, where can I find them for cheap?

I have spoken to a distributor out here in LA that quoted me $620/wheel, which I feel is a good price. However, I am always open to suggestions from members of the G community, who undoubtedly know more about this than I do.

Thanks all!

dude, not sure which BBK you plan on getting, very few, like stoptech, actually have the measurements and cut out diagrams you can use to see if the calipers will clear. i can tell you that +22 will clear most of them. Those ADVANS usually have a nice concave curve as well, but the thing is +22 will clear most, if not all 6 pot front BBKs.

I had +29 on my fronts and plenty of room cleared my BBK.

Staggered setups won't mean you can't have a "buldging" look The rear of the G can support a much wider wheel/tire (since it's RWD) and that is the purpose of staggering. My understanding is that if you do NOT maintain the proper width variance from front to back...your VDC/Slip computers will not function correctly making your car a true pain to drive, and nearly impossible to drive "spiritedly."

The offset does certainly give you an idication of clearance for BBK and such, however it is the "Disk" type A, O, R which will truely give you a sense of clearance for BBK's.

Finally if you intend on tracking the car...18's are great...if not...why not look into 19's? They really fill out the wheel arches much better IMO...if you don't mind the extra rotational mass (or are going for big enough power that it won't matter) 20's look GREAT...but stop there lols (22"s are not for G's)

Some of the Guru's should find this thread soon and correct any info I was wrong about...the Advan title will ensure that
