I'm not sure what snow-cables are. Are they like snow chains?

From what I understand, the 'X' is has very good traction with the All season rubber that comes with the car, in all conditions.
If you want something a little better, I'd suggest you go for snow tires all 'round.

Here is a site I looked at... I have not known anyone who ever used them b4 so I am very much on the fence about using these on a G w/aftermarket wheels.

Congrats on your new X. To be honest the G35X is awesome in snow and slippery conditions. I know one fellow from Winnepeg who never bothered installing his snows on his 05 X because it was so good in the snow with his stock wheels and tires.
I have Blizzak WS-50 snows with 16" alloys, and it sets you back in the seats when accellerating in snow. I just came back from a neighbors place and his driveway is 1/8 mile up a very steep snow and ice covered hill which I just went up and he was shocked he uses his 4x4 Rav 4 to get up and down in the winter. I was also on some snow and ice covered back country roads this morning, and I was blasting them at 60-70mph like I was on rails.
I can't get enough of this it is unbelievable, I am going out to play again later today. The main highway coming in and out of our town was closed all day yesterday cause of conditions.

Resurrecting an ancient thread here.... sorry.

Once in a great while they require even AWDs with snow tires to chain up in the passes here.

Anyone have any snow cable recommendations? Looks like I can get a set of cables for cheap here:

http://www.tirechain.com/P225-55R-17.htm

Obviously overkill but anyone ever fully chain up an X on all fours.
