TPMS rebuild?
TPMS rebuild?
Getting new rear tires for my coupe this month and having the OEM Rays refinished and powdercoated. I was told at a tire shop that I should have my TPMS rebuilt since the wheels have 60K on them. I do not rely on the TPMS at all since I check the air on my tires often. Does it make any sense or should I at all to get them rebuilt at all? Has anyone been told or suggested to do this? Thanks.
lol they just tried to **** you.
Nobody rebuilds them, you simply replace them. If you look at TPM sensors they're in an epoxy body that can't be opened (90% of the time)
Go back and tell them next time they try to blanket beat you at least make up a good reason.

They are a sealed unit that cannot be repaired. However, if transferring them to another set of wheels you will want the rebuild kits. That kit contains new gaskets and such to make sure they don't leak air when reinstalled. We carry the kits if you need them.
Thanks. Good to know.
