Tires for 08 G35XS

I m thinking to get a set of all season tires for my 08 G35XS with tire size 225/50/R18. Now I am new to this stuff, so help me out here. I try to pick between General Tire G-MAX AS-03 and HanKook Optimo PH727. I went to tiretrack.com and saw these two are not listed as compatible tires. My question is can I switch sidewall height 50 to SWH 40? If i can, which brand is better, if can't, any good suggestion of all season tire? thanks ahead

A 40 series would be a bit too short for the car. I've had really good feedback on the Generals in low snow climates. They have not been out as long as the Hankooks, however, so there is not as much customer feedback online yet. If you see a bit more snow and are looking for longer life, better ride, etc I'd do the Hankook. On a sport based driving side the General would be better.

Thanks for the help. When I go to tirerack website and select the size/price section under Hankook Optimo, the compatible blue dot doesn't show up right next to 225/50R18. Does that mean it's not compatible or it's still ok to install them for my G35?

They are made in that size, but quite under speed rated for the car. It does not show online for the car as you should use at least a V rated and those are quite a few steps below at a T.

Ok, after a little bit of reading now I get it. It seems like those tires I pick are not going to suite for my vehicle unless I change rim size to either 17 or 19 Do you have any good recommendations for G35XS ?

On the touring side you may want to look at Kumho's LX Platinum or Michelin Primacy MXM4. For a sport all season the Generals above or Yoko Envigor are good choices.
