WS70 vs Xi2 ?

someone please please help me choose.

both tires have very close reviews. tirerack rates one a little higher than other, edmunds, road and track is opposite.

Im in CT therefore a lot of snowfall is common, slush, deep, and whatever else.
pricing is within 40-50 bucks difference for the set. thats 10 bucks a tire.

anyone have experience with both and like one more than the other?

See had you said blizzaks or X ice, I would have known what you meant haha but I don't deal with winters close enough to remember the tread patterns for model numbers.

Either of those tires are going to be fantastic. Blizzaks are an absolute trooper in the snow but I've always loved Michelin. If it were me I would go Michelin.

Michelin also has a slightly longer warranty on their tires and snows are something that WILL last you a while. Something to think about....

Do you drive through lots of unplowed areas? Surface roads or highways? That's my biggest complaint with my old Blizzaks, they're terribly noisy at highway speeds.

i would say yes. there will be some if not a lot of regular street driving. so im guessing the michelins would be a lil bit better overall?

blizzaks ftw. I drove my car in every snow storm last year with my ws70's. I will now never try another snow tire.

In a nutshell... The WS70's have a tad deeper tread depth which will make them better in deep snow, both packed and freshly fallen. They will handle a bit sofer than others, wear about the same as the Xi2.

The Michelin does a bit better on the ice side of things, will ride slighly quieter, and have a tad better steering response. Trade off is deep snow traction verses the Blizzak.

What, to you, would be "deep snow"? To me, that's at least 8", and at that point, the car is running out of ground clearance.

Passable snow in a passenger car I would consider 4-6" deep. The pic of my Audi below was ten or so inches which was quite rare, but Blizzaks got me home. Was a long ride home that night....
