350Z RSR front springs with 350Z H-tech rears?

Hey guys,

I just got the 350Z RSR springs on my car today and i think they are great. However, i do have a system in my trunk, so the back end of my car is lower than the front slightly. I was thinking of changing the back springs out for the H-techs for the 350Z instead, but i was unsure as to how that would effect the handling performance. Any thoughts?

Consider the following spring rates:

314/342 with the OEM springs

345/417 for the 350Z RSR springs

358/375 for the 350Z h-techs

So in theory, wouldn't i be able to transfer 1 percent of roll to the rear with my proposed setup, making it a good choice? Plus, from what i understand, the tein rear's are linear, therefore making them a good match for the RSR fronts.

I know this is probably a more expensive route to take, but what do you guys think about it?

It would be fine - I really wish spring manufacturer would sell springs in front and rear sets so we could mix/match like you are proposing - just more of a chance to customize further and get the exact feeling you want from the suspension - so my answer is: GO FOR IT!

How heavy is your system?

And...
a. 417 for the 350Z RSR springs drops how much w/o system?
b. 375 for the 350Z h-techs drops how much w/o system?

Im not sure exactly how heavy my system is..I would guess about 100 pounds.

The rsr's srop the rear about an inch w/o the system..while the tein's should drop the rear about .6 or so w/o the system.

I think with your weight in the back and the 350z h-tech springs, your drop'll
be just at about shy of 1". Is that what you're looking for?
Performance wise, with the added weight and lower spring rate, your car
will feel much softer and will roll a tad more through the turns with more
understeer. You might want to get swaybars if you don't have them
already to offset that.

Yea..i was planning on adding stillens in the future anyway, so i think this may be the right way to go. Plus my ride quality should improve slightly as well..

I think ill do this tomorrow. I'll post results after.

If there is anyone that thinks this is a bad idea, let me know. Thanks.
