I have an OB coupe with a set of burning black VS-XX, and I want to buy a new set of lug nuts. I know that it needs to be 12 X 1.25.

1) is it recommended to go with closed end or extended?
2) i want to get something with high quality and prefer to pay no more than $75.
3) what is a good color for BB vs-xx on Obsidian Black (stock non-brembo brakes)?
4) i want something with a lock
5) i want something compact enough to not scratch the wheels when using the key
6) do the bottom need to be a specific type for a secure fit?

I prefer close ended lugs but I've seen plenty of open ended lug nuts that looked good. Unfortunately a lot of the higher end brands that have nice, close ended lug nuts are more than $75. Something simple like black, chrome, or silver would look good in my opinion. You need conical lugs for them I believe.

 

thanks. I'm also looking for something that will not rust. my current ones are showing rust in the inner edge.

 

Open the budget a little more. Keep in mind these small little lugs are what protect your wheels from getting jacked.

I'd go with Project Kics Legdurras. vendors on here can get them for around $150 IIRC they come in like 10 different colours. I'd go gun metal.

If you don't want to spend that, go to my350z look through their marketplace for some used Rays or Work lugs in the gunmetal colour. They often come up for sale used at around $80-$100

 

That's actually why I prefer close ended lug nuts. Also, after running aluminum ones I would like to go back to steel. Keep that in mind.
