19x8.5 255/35/19 fit?

Can a 255/35/19 tire fit safely on a 19x8.5 rim?

you'd be pushing the envelope. i've got 245/35 on my 19x8.5. looks great, fit is about 5mm more than i want. it's just enough where the rim is 'protected', but it's not bubbling out. imo, i would get at least a 9" rim for that tire width. i know they are not a common size, i'm just saying that a 255 on 8.5" is pushing it... really far.
hope this helps.

but the stockers are 245 on 18x8 tho...so i don't see how 255 would be too large for 8.5

When you hit the curb with the face of your rim you get "THE RASH"

Having a tire that is slightly wider than the rim (assuming proper inflation) will help prevent "THE RASH" if you slide up along side a curb.

regardless of tire stretching or not, curb rash is possible. even if your tires are past the lip of your rims. the force of the car even at a roll, will cause the tire to get squished and then tickle your shoes.

245's on my 8.5" front rims looks a little stretched IMO. I am going 255 when I order new tires. I also ran 255's on the rear of the stock 8" wheels with no problem. The tire did bulge a bit on a 8" rim. I wouldn't recommend it, but people are even running 275's on the stock 8" wheels without any reported problems.

Whoa 275 on a 8" rim is foolish espeically with hard driving in corners. Makes no sense.

Well it seems like 255 on a 8.5 should be ok from what I can tell.

I've had 255/45 r17 michelin pilot sports on the stock 17in rear rims for over a year now. No problems ever.
