My front oem rays has a crack in it....

It's on the inner barrel of the rim, about an inch long. It was first seen when my bro brought it to the shop for a leaky valve stem and the tire mechanic found it. I think it has gotten larger, but I don't have pictures from when it was first found. I'm having the hardest time finding a front rim.

Anyone have experience with cracked forged rims? I've been driving on it for a while now. The rubber patch was put on by the tire mech to prevent air leaks, but I doubt it makes much difference.

yup.

If done right, there won't be any differences compared to a non-welded oem ray?

Nope, if the guy can weld it'll be no problem.

Ask to see his welds, if they look like this I'd trust him with anything.
