HELP with tire fitment

OK guys, here's the dilemma. I bought a set of TSW Thruxtons in 18 X 8 with a +36 offset from Tire rack (being told this was the proper size) I put 245/45-18 Nitto 555's. When they arrived I put them on and they looked pretty close to the outside but not past the edge of the fenders. I then bought a set of Tein coilover and am ready to install them, but you guessed it, the tires will rub. Rather than call it a day (I can't return them after driving on them) I was thinking of switching to a 235/40-18 tire for little extra room. This tire is about an inch lower and therefore will be off by about 3%. Any one run a tire a little short like this? Any feedback?
Thanks for your time.

What teins did you install? How much did it drop?

Since it looks like the offset they sent you was off, why not b*tch and get a proper fitting rim.

We have member's that have 245/40-18's with 18x8 rims on 35mm offsets without any problems with rubbing. But a 245/45-18 tire is taller, this does have a negitive effect on clearances because since it's taller it moves the tire closer to the fender lips, really it's the rear that matter. HOWEVER, Enkei did a fitment test on the sedan and used a 18x9 rim with a 38mm offset and a 245/45-18 tire and they had 2mm of clearance from the rear fender lip. A 18x9 rim with the same offset moves the tire 13 additional mm outwards and inwards.

I would look at your rims and see what offset they are stamped with.
