Tire sizes for 19x11!

Hey guys, I recently ordered a new set of wheels and so now I'm looking for a tire size that will give me a decent stretch, not too much to see the barrels.. The rears are 19x11 so I was looking at a federal 595 245/40. I can't seem to find a good enough answer elsewhere. The fronts are 19x9.5 so I'm going to run a 215/35 on them I believe. Thanks!

Depends who you talk to but thats a pretty crazy stretch imo.
Just play it safe unless your going really low and even if you were, then 19's are not the size to be running if you wanna be really slammed.
All I can say is, dont be like that dude with the teal R32.

yeah i know i just cant figure out exactly what to run. ive looked into a 255/40 and a 255/35 as well but idk if i want to run such a small sidewall. my previous setup was 20x10.5 on a 245/40 i believe, but i was tucking those wheels with a good -5 to -5.5 on camber. and on a sidenote i kinda enjoy that teal r32! its unique and he is doing what he likes haha. but thanks for the input and any more help is appreciated!

I'm pretty sure you were running 30 or 35 on your 20's. 40 would just be too tall. For your setup I would go with 245/40 or 255/35 on the 19x11. I'm doing 225/40 and 255/35 on my upcoming 19x10/19x11 setup.

What you do with your car is up to you.
Just saying that if you really want to go low, I would go to a smaller rim as well.

Check, if you haven't already. But it seems your no noobie to this thing.

I liked the idea of the teal wheels. Just not the way the owner went about it.
I mean 215 on a 10.5 and with little regard to the camber wear that was happening to his tires... he deserves to be slapped.

I'm not a pro when it comes to the stanced thing but I think Adon or G-Spec put it best when he said that being slammed is about a fine tuning of fitment not just stretching a tire as much as it would go, adding camber and slamming it.

but whichever route you go, the best of luck and all the power to yeah!

Just make sure this doesn't happen to your car.
It saddens me to see this kind of stuff happening to forum member.

If you're definitely using a 215/35 up front, a 245/30 rear will match up to it almost perfectly in terms of equal stretch and overall height. I always use the willtheyfit.com calculator when I'm trying to figure out new sets so play around with that. But here's what I plugged in for yours: http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php...&Submit=Submit

If you go too tall on the rear (245/35 or 245/40) you're going to end up with horrible BMW esque rake and probable VDC issues due to the vastly uneven tire height of the 40 series. Stick with a 30 if you can find it.

Yeah I mean for sure im doing as much research for this setup as I can, and like you noticed, I have been doing this for awhile but I love getting input for other people cause it really helps me learn more! As far as just slamming a car and stretching tires, that "stance" is saved for the kids whose mommy and daddy bought them everything lol.

I would really like to use the 215/35 because its just enough stretch without going overboard and at the same time ill have more clearance of the front fenders that way. Also thanks for the link! I've never seen that website so I will mos def be using that from now on

Yep. That link saved me from making a lot bad decisions when it came to my wheel choices.

But again, good luck!

Looks like I'm gonna be going with a 245/35 in the rear. I know you suggested a 245/30 but prices on that are around $210, and prices for a federal 595 245/35 are $78 a pop!

Fantastic website. I just used this to figure out what size tires to get for the staggered 19's I just bought. Great find OB
